Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) consist of multiple SWCNT cylinders tucked into each other. There are two models that can be used to describe the structures of multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Such cylindrical graphitic polymeric structures have novel or improved properties that make them potentially useful in a wide variety of applications in electronics, optics and other fields of materials science.
